Two months ago, reports online revealed Motorola’s plan to launch the Moto Z3 Play, with a render of the phone. The image revealed that the phone will be featuring an 18:9 aspect ratio screen and will continue to carry the modular design. Now, a leaked internal document reveals more information about the phone’s specifications, features, and even the mods.
The document was first reported by XDA-Developers, which it claims to be authentic. However, in the same breath also states that it’s too early and some details might change before the device’s final release. While details are mentioned for the Z3 Play, some of the features might also end up in the other handsets from the same Z series.
Moto Z3 Play features and specifications
According to the document, the Moto Z3 Play will be featuring a Snapdragon 636 SoC, with 4GB of RAM and the option to choose between 32GB and 64GB of storage. In addition, the device will also support a microSD card. The device will be boasting a 6-inch 18:9 “Max Vision” FHD+ (1080 x 2160) AMOLED display. Because of the tiny bezels, and the phone’s modular design, the fingerprint sensor is said to have been side-mounted.
The document also states that the phone will be “one of the thinnest premium smartphones in the market,”. That is because Moto has decided to equip the phone with a 3,000 mAh battery. That of course seems less compared to the current trend, but a battery boosting mod is also expected to make an appearance. That said, the device also supports TurboPower charging.
For taking pictures, the phone is expected to come with a dual-rear camera setup, consisting of two 12-megapixel sensors. At the front, it will be having an 8-megapixel camera. Besides just a portrait mode, the camera is said to offer a range of creative features. One of them is “Cinemagraphs’, which carries a mix of still photos with animated aspects to some parts. Other creative modes, let you cutout the subject in the image and add a different background to it. Additionally, there is also a text scanning mode and a manual mode.

Some of the ones mentioned are, Moto Z “Power” Edition – bundled with Battery Moto Mod, Moto Z “Style” Edition – bundled with Style Shell, Moto Z “Gamepad” Edition – bundled with Gamepad Mod and Moto Z “Projection” Edition – bundled with 70-inch Projector Mod.
Besides of all this information, the document didn’t reveal any information on a launch date or pricing. Rumors have stated the Moto Z3 Play to launch in the Summer. We will update the space, when we have more information.
