With just 10 days for the GST to be effective, e-commerce platforms are trying to clear their inventories of smartphones, which have been greatly impacted under the new centralized tax system. With GST in place, the tax on smartphones will come down to 12 percent, as opposed to that of 13.5 percent earlier. Which means, smartphones will now be a bit cheaper than they are right now.
