Motorola is all set to launch the Moto Z3 Play smartphone soon and the device has been seen in numerous leaks that have already spread on the internet. And if the rumors and leaks and case renders are to be believed, the new smartphone from Motorola will have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner in all probability.
We had previously seen case renders from Slashleaks which showed the device to not have a fingerprint scanner on the front. Rather, the device sported what looked like a fingerprint scanner on the right edge of the phone, below the volume rocker buttons.
And now a fresh set of case renders from Poetic Cases that is already offering its Karbon Shield case for the Moto Z3 Play, seems to confirm what was noticed in the previous renders.
The front of the device features a 18:9 aspect ratio display with the earpiece and front camera on top and a mic on the bottom. Motorola has decided to retain the modular aspect of its flagship lineup, and we can expect the Moto Z3 Play to work with older mods, and maybe some new ones that the company introduces. The mod connectors seem to be extended this time around though. The form factor of the device also seems similar, if not the same.
The circular camera module on the rear shows two lenses but an extra button on the left edge of the phone is what is confusing people. Considering that the fingerprint scanner on the right doubles as a power button, this third button may be for some other purpose altogether. We suppose we have to wait for the company to tell us what that will be for.
