Motorola is hosting an event on August 2 in Chicago where it is expected to unveil the Motorola One and Motorola One Power smartphones. Ahead of the launch, the smartphones have already leaked out revealing key features and specifications. Now, a new set of live images of an as yet unannounced Motorola smartphone has surfaced online, which could be the third device in works for the Lenovo-owned company.

The leaked images show that this unnamed device borrows design elements from both the Motorola One and One Power. It utilizes the glass back design seen on the Motorola One and vertically stacked dual camera system on the One Power. While the Motorola One and One Power feature Android One branding, the leaked live images of this third device does not bear any such branding.

There is a possibility that Motorola is working on this third device without stock Android and might debut as part of Moto series. This new smartphone also features a display supporting the taller 18:9 aspect ratio and skips the notched display design seen on the leaked renders of Motorola One and One Power.

There is no word on the specifications of the smartphone just yet but Motorola might debut this alongside the flagship Moto Z3 at its August event. Motorola‘s current smartphone lineup includes the Moto Z3 Play, the Moto G6 and Moto E5 series. This new smartphone could fill the gap in its lineup by offering Snapdragon 660 or Snapdragon 710 processor.

There is no clarity as to what Motorola plans for its smartphone lineup this year. The leaked device is only part of a speculation and could even be a canceled prototype of the Motorola One. If Motorola plans to launch an additional device then it will do so at the event scheduled for August 2 in Chicago. Motorola and its parent Lenovo are facing pressure from Chinese smartphones and have lost market share in key markets like India and with new devices, the Chicago-based smartphone maker is trying to make a comeback.
