Mozilla Firefox 10 now available for download
Mozilla’s latest web browser, Firefox 10, is now available for download for Windows, Macintosh and Linux users. In the last nine months the highly popular web browser has swiftly moved from version 4 to 10. For a six week long update cycle Firefox 10 brings impressive enhancements to the table. The new update brings a nifty extension management system, alongside a forward button that hides itself till it has a function. Apart from this we now get APIs for full screen web apps and anti-aliasing for Web GL. For enterprise customers Mozilla has added ‘Extended Support Release’ that comes in handy for businesses which don’t want to support a new browser after every six weeks.
While fast update cycles for software are always welcome, Mozilla is not the only one driving the browser wars forward. One cannot forget Google’s Chrome which recently went a full 19 days between Chrome 17 beta and Chrome 18 developer build. Chrome is currently on a roll, as it recently overtook Firefox as the world’s second most popular browser, a position Firefox had maintained for years. Many users have switched ship to Chrome because of its immensely fast page load times and slick tab sandboxing capabilities, though the latest Firefox update does mitigate some of these problems. In the meanwhile if you want to download the new updated version of Firefox you can do it here, I know I have and it’s not too shabby.

Gotta love the browser wars. I myself prefer Chrome, but as of late Firefox has come a long ways. Either one is better than IE.
