At the ongoing Mobile World Congress, Alcatel has launched three smartphones, namely One Touch Idol 2, One Touch Idol 2 Mini and One Touch Pop Fit.
Looking at the specs, the One Touch Idol 2 gets a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. An 8-megapixel primary camera and a 1.3-megapixel front unit take care of photography. It runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box but Alcatel says that an update to Android 4.4 KitKat is on its way later this year.
The second phone is the Alcatel One Touch Idol 2 Mini. It also uses a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB or RAM. The screen is smaller at 4.5-inches and runs at qHD (960×540 pixels) resolution. It gets an 8-megapixel primary camera and 2-megapixel unit on the front. Like the One Touch Idol 2, it runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but can be upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat later this year.
The third phone in the range is called Alcatel One Touch Pop Fit. Alcatel says its a wearable smartphone, so it gets accessories like armband case etc. The phone features a 2.8-inch QVGA (320×240 pixels) display, a 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM. Storage options on this one includes 16GB and 32GB.
Although the availability is not known yet, the prices were announced by Alcatel. The One Touch Idol 2 is priced at 199 Euros (about Rs 16,992), the One Touch Idol 2 Mini is priced at 169 Euros (about Rs 14,431) and One Touch Pop Fit at 89 Euros (about Rs 7,600).
