MWC 2014 Live: Huawei MediaPad X1 and MediaPad M1 tablets and Ascend G6 smartphone announced

Huawei has announced three new devices at its ongoing pre-MWC event in Barcelona. Of the three, two are tablets called the MediaPad X1 and the MediaPad M1, while the smartphone is called the Ascend G6.

The MediaPad X1 is a 7-inch tablet, which is quite slim to hold because of its 7.18mm thickness. It flaunts a full HD 1080p display with 323ppi and is powered by a 1.8GHz quad-core processor paired with Mali 450 GPU. Other features include a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, 16GB internal storage that can be expanded using a microSD card slot and a 5,000mAh battery, which the company claims is the biggest in its class. The company also claims that the battery will last for up to five days on normal usage. It has a SIM card slot with support for 4G LTE and on the software front it runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

The MediaPad M1, on the other hand, is the tablet that leaked earlier today. It flaunts an 8-inch display IPS (1280×800 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core processor. Other features include a 5-megapixel rear camera, 1-megapixel front camera and a 4,800mAh battery. The MediaPad M1 runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and also supports voice calls.

As far as the specifications on the smartphone are concerned, the Ascend G6 sports a 4.5-inch qHD (960×540 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. Other features include an 8-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front wide angle front camera, 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded using a microSD card slot and a 2,00mAh battery. Connectivity options include 4G capabilities and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

All these devices will be available from next month onwards in select markets. There is currently no word on when it could arrive in India.
