Samsung will be launching the new Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ at MWC 2018, and a leaked manual throws some light on the accessories which could also steal the show. According to a leaked manual, the company could also launch an all-new fast wireless charger alongside the flagship smartphones.
The leaked manual, spotted by GSMArena, mentions a new wireless charging pad that will include two charging coils and will support fast charging up to 9V/1.67A, 9V/2A or 12V/2.1A. There seems to be no change in the appearance of the charger as compared to the current model. It includes a USB-C port at the back for power input, a fan at the back to prevent heating, and LED indicators for charging status; where red means charging, green means ready, and flashing light means error.
Although the manual does not clearly specify if the charger is meant for the newer Galaxy S9 smartphones, but we can expect it to show at the upcoming tech show. In the past, accessories including covers and cases for the Galaxy S9+ have also leaked, reiterating the presence of a dual-camera setup on the larger variant. More recently, a new ‘DeX Pad’ hardware was also detailed in leaks. The add-on device would allow you to use the Galaxy S9 phone as a trackpad and attach a display and keyboard to setup a full-fledged computer.
As for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, the smartphones are unlikely to differ in terms of appearance but include improvements under the hood. The duo will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Both the smartphones will pack displays with 18:9 aspect ratio. The Galaxy S9 will feature a 5.8-inch quad HD+ Super AMOLED curved display while the Galaxy S9+ will come with a 6.2-inch display. For optics, the Galaxy S9+ is likely to be equipped with pair of 12-megapixel Dual Pixel camera with optical image stabilization. Up front, there will be an 8-megapixel camera. There will be IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
