We already know that Xiaomi has been working on multiple devices, and one of them is the Mi MIX 2s. An incremental upgrade to last year’s Mi MIX 2, the new smartphone is likely to bring some important changes to the Mi MIX-series. It was previously spotted in AnTuTu benchmark revealing some specifications, and now promo image sheds light on its design and key specifications.
According to leaked promo material on China’s microblogging site Weibo, the Mi MIX 2s is expected to come with almost no bezels. Based on the leaked photo, the front-facing camera that was placed at the bottom bezel until now, has been moved to the top-right corner. It may look a bit distracting, and interrupting the all-screen aesthetics of the device, but that just takes up a small portion, and we don’t think it should be big problem. If one can live with the notch on the Apple iPhone X, and the front camera module interrupting on the Essential PH-1, then Mi MIX 2s shouldn’t be a big deal.
The promo leak reveals that the Mi MIX 2s will come with curved ceramic unibody design on all four sides, full screen display 3.0, and support for global 4G LTE bands. Under the hood, the smartphone will run a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage.
Besides the incremental design and screen upgrades, the Mi MIX 2s will finally get dual-camera setup at the back, comprising of two 12-megapixel sensors – a wide angle and telephoto lens for DSLR-like bokeh effects and optical zoom. And lastly, the leak also points that Xiaomi has done away with the fingerprint sensor, and the Mi MIX 2s will come with an under-display fingerprint sensor just like the one we have seen on the Vivo X20 Plus UD, along with iPhone X like 3D face recognition technology.
Although Xiaomi has not confirmed anything about the launch event yet, there are rumors that the Chinese company may announce the smartphone at MWC 2018 in Barcelona, later this month.
