Samsung is gearing up to launch a new affordable smartphone in India. Flipkart has started teasing the launch of a device, which is expected to be a part of Samsung’s Galaxy On-series.
The teaser on Flipkart reveals that a new Samsung smartphone will be launched on July 2 at 12:30PM. The ‘#AlwaysOn’ makes it quite clear that the new device will be a part of the Galaxy On-series. The teaser gives us a glimpse at the upcoming device, and also includes a bunch of videos featuring Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff.
While Samsung has recently launched new smartphones in its Galaxy A, and Galaxy J-series, the Galaxy On-series has been in a need of a refresh. The last device in this series was the Galaxy On7 Prime, launched in January this year. While there is no official word, this new device could potentially be called the Galaxy On9.
This teaser comes after a recent report had all but confirmed the launch of a new Galaxy On smartphone. The report claims that the upcoming smartphone will feature a Super AMOLED Infinity Display. You can see the edge-to-edge display in Flipkart’s teaser.

Further, the smartphone is also expected to feature an Exynos chipset, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB internal storage. The hashtag ‘AlwaysOn’ could also be a hint at the smartphone’s long battery life. While other details are scarce, Samsung is said to be quite bullish about the smartphone’s capability to make its mark in the highly-competitive mid-price segment dominated by the Chinese players, including Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo and Honor, to name a few.
