Amazon’s Prime Now app has been around for a while now, and has made shopping for groceries particularly easy if you live in any of the major areas served by the company for the service. Residents of big cities such as Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad and Bangalore have the option to make purchases off the Amazon Prime Now app, and have their packages delivered in two hours, or during predetermined time slots according to the customer’s convenience.

Prime Now is largely designed to make grocery shopping easier, as Amazon looks to take on the everyday groceries segment in a big way. But the company has been expanding the scope of its Prime Now catalog to include electronics as well. After introducing the Fire TV Stick, Kindle and Echo products on the Prime Now app, Amazon India is now launching availability of various smartphones on the Prime Now app as well.

The phones being launched on the app include the OnePlus 6, Xiaomi Redmi 5, Oppo Realme 1, Moto G6 and more. Purchasing any of these devices on the Amazon Prime Now app will allow you to choose two-hour delivery (which comes at an additional charge) or schedule same-day or next-day delivery at a time slot convenient to you. Currently, Amazon Prime Now lets users choose two-hour time slots between 6:00AM and 12 midnight on operational days. This way, you can place an online order for a new smartphone, and you don’t have to wait very long for delivery.

It’s important to point out that Amazon Prime Now isn’t available across the country for now, and is limited to specific pin codes in four major cities for the time being. Interestingly, you can also buy certain other electronics on the Prime Now app, including popular laptops such as the 2017 Apple MacBook Air, headphones, tablets, cameras, portable hard drives and more. Also worth pointing out is that the product list is on the Amazon Prime Now app is significantly smaller than the full list available on Amazon, and is based on availability of popular products at Amazon and its service partners’ supply centers.

This is in addition to the regular offerings of groceries, including FMCG products and produce. These purchases can only be made by Amazon Prime subscribers on the Amazon Prime Now app, which is available for iOS and Android. Purchases on the regular Amazon Shopping app or through the website will have regular shipping conditions applicable, and don’t require an Amazon Prime subscription to access.
