Nokia 1 April Security Update starts rolling out in India

HMD Global has largely stuck to its promise of regularly rolling out software updates for its Nokia-branded smartphones. The latest smartphone to receive an update is the Nokia 1.

The entry-level Nokia smartphone has received the April Security Update, NPU reports. The update is said to be around 142MB in size, and is essentially focused on improving overall system stability. As per the report, the new update for Nokia 1 has started rolling out in countries like India and Iraq.

The Nokia 1 was first unveiled at MWC 2018 earlier this year, and was then launched in India towards the end of last month. It is essentially among the first Android Go Edition smartphones, and is available with a price tag of Rs 5,499. Running Android Oreo (Go Edition), the smartphone is optimized to Lite version of most Google apps. This version of Android OS focuses on delivering good user experience even on entry-level, low-specced smartphones.

Nokia 1 specifications, features

As far as specifications are concerned, the Nokia 1 packs a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480×854 pixels) IPS display. It is powered by a 1.1GHz MediaTek MT6737M quad-core SoC paired with 1GB of RAM. There is also 8GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

The smartphone further includes a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while up front, there is a 2-megapixel fixed focus camera. The rest of the features include 2,150mAh battery, and connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, micro-USB, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
