Nokia 2 leaked renders hint at a Nokia 3-like design

Nokia 2 is expected to be HMD Globa's entry-level smartphone.

HMD Global is reportedly working on its entry-level smartphone called the Nokia 2. Just yesterday, the Nokia 2 was spotted on FCC with a massive 4,000mAh battery. Now, alleged renders of the upcoming smartphone have surfaced online, revealing its full design. Staying true to the leaks, the Nokia 2 shares a similar design language as the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6.

Shared by leakster Evan Blass, the Nokia 2 is seen in two colors of black and white showing both its front and back panels. Up front, the top bezel houses the front camera lens with the Nokia branding on the right. There’s no home button, and instead the smartphone has three on-screen buttons. The volume rocker and power buttons are placed at the right side. Similar to the other Nokia smartphones, the rear camera and LED flash are vertically aligned with the Nokia branding sitting below.

The Nokia 2 looks somewhat like the Nokia 3 but with curved edges. Touted as HMD Global’s entry-level smartphone, the Nokia 2 is said to be cheaper than the Nokia 3. In India, the Nokia 3 retails at Rs 9,499.

As far as specifications are concerned, the Nokia 2 is expected to feature a 5-inch HD display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 210 SoC clocked at 1.27GHz, and either 1GB or 2GB of RAM. There is no word on internal storage for the Nokia 2 yet. ALSO READ: Nokia 6 Review: From Finland with love

Although a 4,000mAh battery is expected on the Nokia 2, some reports suggest 2,800mAh as well. In terms of optics, the Nokia 2 is rumored to sport an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front camera. On the software front, the Nokia 2 will possibly run on Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box, or may be even Android Oreo depending on the time of its launch.
