HMD Global launched its most affordable Nokia smartphone last month. The global launch of the Nokia 2 took place in India, but its price and availability details were not announced. The smartphone is currently available in Russia with a price tag of RUB 7,990 (approximately Rs 8,800). A new report now states that the Nokia 2 will be available for purchase in India by the end of December with prices starting from Rs 6,999.
According to a report by Bsu, the Nokia 2 will be available in two variants of 1GB and 2GB RAM. However, HMD Global had launched the Nokia 2 with 1GB of RAM. The report states that the Nokia 2 with 1GB of RAM will be priced at Rs 6,999, and will go on sale by the end of November through offline retailers. The supposed 2GB RAM variant of the Nokia 2 will priced at Rs 7,999, and will be available by the end of December. This variant of the Nokia 2 will be sold exclusively via Flipkart.
With no official announcement yet, and also with a new storage variant of the Nokia 2 it’s best that this information be taken with a grain of salt. While HMD Global is expected to commercially launch the Nokia 2 soon, there isn’t any confirmation from the company.
The Nokia 2 comes with 8GB of internal storage, which is further expandable via a microSD card. The smartphone features a 5-inch HD display, Snapdragon 212 SoC, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling.
The connectivity options available on the Nokia 2 include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. On the software front, the Nokia 2 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. The smartphone also comes with Google Assistant onboard.
