HMD Global has started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo update to its affordable Nokia 3 smartphone. Launched last year, the Nokia 3 came with Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. With the fresh update, performance and experience improvements will be available to all users.
Earlier this year, HMD Global rolled out the Android Oreo beta program for Nokia 3. As part of the program, users could test the update before it is released to the masses. The company promised to roll out swift updates to the newer Android versions. The update to Nokia 3 is worth noting as manufacturers usually focus on rolling out updates to pricier models. With today’s announcement, the Android 8.0 Oreo public version goes live, PhoneArena reports.
How to update
If you are a Nokia 3 user, the update should be available over-the-air. In case you do not receive the update automatically, you can go to the device settings and check it manually. The rollout begins today, however, it may take a few days to arrive on Nokia 3 units worldwide.
