Last week, HMD Global announced Nokia 6.1 Plus as the rebranded version of Nokia X6 for the global market. The smartphone was extended beyond China with its launch in Hong Kong, and the Finnish company confirmed its plans to release the device in many more markets. While the company is yet to confirm its launch in India, an alleged user guide of the smartphone has now appeared on the Nokia India’s website along with SAR details.
The Nokia 6.1 Plus user guide was spotted by NokiaPoweruser, and the publication claims the smartphone could launch in the country sometime in August or September. It also reports that the user guide for the smartphone along with the Indian SAR information looks “correct and valid”. This does suggest that the company might be preparing to launch the smartphone as early as next month.
While Nokia 6.1 Plus is currently available only in Hong Kong, the smartphone is expected to reach Taiwan and Russia as well since it has been spotted on their respective certification sites. The Nokia X6 (or Nokia 6.1 Plus) has garnered a lot of attention since it is the first device from the company to feature a notched display and premium design with glass back. The smartphone is seen as HMD Global’s competitor to Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 in the Indian market.
Nokia 6.1 Plus Specifications and Features
The highlight of Nokia 6.1 Plus is the 5.8-inch LCD display with a notch and resolution of 2280×1080 pixels. The notch on the Nokia 6.1 Plus is similar to most other smartphones in the market, and it hides the front camera and other sensors. The notch also results in taller 19:9 aspect ratio, which is taller than 18:9 aspect ratio found on most budget smartphone displays.
Powering the device is the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 mobile CPU with Adreno 509 GPU. The processor is the same as the one found under the hood of Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. The Nokia 6.1 Plus comes standard with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage, but HMD Global might offer other storage variants to better compete with its rivals. There is also dual rear camera setup comprising of a 16-megapixel f/2.0 main sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.2 aperture. At the front, the Nokia 6.1 Plus gets a 16-megapixel selfie shooter with 1 micron pixel size and f/2.0 aperture.
