At an event in New Delhi today, Nokia launched the much awaited Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and the Nokia 6 Android smartphones. While the smartphones had been announced back at MWC 2017, the price and availability of these devices in India have only been revealed today. The Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 have been priced at Rs 9,499, Rs 12,899 and Rs 14,999 respectively. The Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 will be offline exclusive, but the former will be available starting June 16, and the latter will be up for pre-booking starting on June 7. The Nokia 6, on the other hand, will be Amazon exclusive and will be available starting July 14. However, what’s interesting is that this Amazon exclusive smartphone is currently selling on eBay India. But should you buy it?

Well, the answer is no, and here’s why? First of all, the official platform for sale for the Nokia 6 is Amazon India, so whatever said and done, the authenticity of the device can not be promised when you are buying through an unofficial channel. Secondly, the Nokia 6 is supposed to retail at Rs 14,999, and the eBay listing is selling the device at Rs 25,450, which is almost Rs 10,400 steeper than the actual price.

Also, the listing on eBay reveals Hong Kong to be the to be the location of the item, which means it is being shipped in from there. Naturally, since it’s being shipped in, the delivery of the product has to take some time, so the estimated delivery date for the Nokia 6 is mentioned between June 23 and June 28. We tried a bunch of pin codes – Noida (UP), Colaba (Mumbai), Gurgaon (Haryana) – and it shows the same estimated dates for delivery. If you wait just a while longer, the Nokia 6 will be available starting July 14 from an official source. RELATED: Nokia 6 vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 vs Moto G5 Plus vs Lenovo Z2 Plus

Further, for payment, the listing gives no option for cash on delivery. Users can pay via credit card, EMI, debit card, or online bank transfer. Which is a dicey business again. Interestingly in the seller description, it says that the seller – global_market16 – is based out of India, and has been a member of eBay since April 2010. The seller has 58.3 percent positive feedback. Regardless, we would recommend that you wait for just another month, and place your order through an official channel. DO READ: Nokia’s return cannot be just about nostalgia; it needs to be more aggressive
