After HMD Global launched the Nokia 6 last year in September, and succeeded it with a 2018 version, the company has now refreshed last year’s Nokia 6 with a new 4GB RAM variant. HMD Global has announced Nokia 6 in a new configuration supporting 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage, as against the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant that was available till now.
The smartphone will be coming in a special matte black color variant, and will be sold exclusively via Flipkart. The new Nokia 6 will be available for purchase starting February 20, and will be available at a ‘best buy price’ of Rs 16,999. Additionally, there is a launch offer of an extra Rs 2,000 off on exchange. Last year’s Nokia 6 currently retails for Rs 14,999.
Starting today, that is February 15, the Nokia 6 has been listed on Flipkart, and the interesting buyers can add themselves under the ‘Notify Me’ list, so that they can be prompted whenever the smartphone goes up on sale.
Other than the increased RAM and storage on the new variant, all other specifications remain the same. Which means, the Nokia 6 (4GB) comes with a metal unibody design and features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass on top. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset, along with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of onboard storage, which is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. The smartphone boasts Dolby Atmos support for audio enhancements. The home button on the front of the smartphone doubles up as a fingerprint scanner.
In terms of optics, the Nokia 6 sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, and dual-tone LED flash. Upfront is an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with f/2.0 aperture. For connectivity, the smartphone supports options like dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, AGPS, NFC and micro USB port. It also comes with OTG support for file transfers, and features the regular 3.5mm jack for audio output. The smartphone houses a 3000mAh battery, and runs Android Nougat 7.1.1 out-of-the box.
