HMD Global will possibly launch another Nokia smartphone soon. The company hinted that it’s working on a device with a screen larger than the Nokia 8.
Reported by Russian website 4Pda (spotted by NPU), the translated text reads, “Well, as a cherry on the cake representatives of HMD Global made a hint that in the future we are waiting for another smartphone – with a larger screen than in Nokia 8, to meet the needs of absolutely all users.”
The Nokia 8 comes with a 5.3-inch screen, and it isn’t entirely clear what the Nokia 9 would offer. However, a recent sketch of the alleged Nokia 9 shows the smartphone with almost no bezels on the sides, and very thin bezels on the top and bottom. In terms of specifications, the Nokia 9 could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The smartphone is expected to come with 128GB of onboard storage. For photography, the Nokia 9 could also continue with the dual camera setup as seen on the Nokia 8. ALSO READ: Nokia 8: Here’s how the ‘bothie’ dual-camera setup works
The smartphone is rumored to house a 3,800mAh battery along with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4.0 support. It is expected to feature a rear fingerprint sensor and a possible iris scanner as well. It could also come with IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. On the software front, the Nokia 9 will possibly run Android 7.1.2 out-of-the-box.
