The much-rumored Nokia X5 was earlier expected to launch on July 11, but the event was cancelled. HMD Global issued an apology, but didn’t really specify the reasons behind the cancellation. Now it seems, the company has decided on a new launch date, and we won’t have to wait too long for it.
As per GizChina, the Nokia X5 will be launched in China on July 17. This doesn’t seem to be an official announcement from the company, and is instead a rumor. So we would advise you to take this with the proverbial pinch of salt.
The Nokia X5 is also expected to be launched as Nokia 5.1 in international markets, including India. A recent leak hinted at the upcoming device’s pricing. The base model with 32GB storage and 3GB RAM is expected to be priced at RMB 799 (Rs 8,200 approximately). The top model with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM is expected to be priced at RMB 999 (Rs 10,200 approximately).

The smartphone will flaunt a 5.86-inch HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio, and a notch at the top. Under the hood is likely to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600-series chipset or a MediaTek Helio P60 SoC. It will also include a dual-camera setup (13-megapixel+5-megapixel) at the back, and run Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box.
