Microsoft has announced Office 2013 has hit the release to manufacturing (RTM) landmark. The software will be available for Microsoft MSDN and TechNet customers in mid-November. Microsoft is planning for a Q1 2013 consumer release.
Additionally, Microsoft has announced that anyone who purchases Office 2010 or Office 2011 for Mac after October 19 will receive a free upgrade to Office 2013 upon release. Windows RT devices will be pre-loaded with a preview of Office for Windows RT.
Office 365 Enterprise customers get the new capabilities starting November via an update when the product hits general availability. Volume licensing customers with software assurance will be able to download Office 2013 applications including Lync, Sharepoint and Exchange by mid-November and the product will be available on the volume licensing price list by December 1. IT professionals and developers will be able to download Office 2013 via TechEd and MSDN subscriptions.
