Barely hours after Asus CEO showed off the Padfone 2 before its global unveiling next week, we now have official photographs of the hybrid smartphone-cum-tablet device. The photos posted by Twitter user @evleaks are of the same device that was shown off earlier.
The photographs clearly show the new smartphone dock behind the tablet, which has replaced the flap cover in the first generation Padfone. It now resembles a battery pack and makes it easier to dock and remove the smartphone. The phone resembles the last generation in design but now sports a larger 4.7-inch display and runs on a quad-core processor. It also has a 13-megapixel camera.
Asus is hosting a press conference in Taipei next week where it is scheduled to unveil the device. Interestingly, Asus had launched the Padfone in India only last month for Rs 64,999. Less than a month later it is announcing the next generation Padfone 2, which boasts better specifications and tablet design.
