Ola cabs have today announced the launch of a new service called ‘Pedal’. As the name suggests, it is a bicycle sharing service launched initially in IIT Kanpur campus last month. Ola claims the Pedal service to be India’s first-of-its-kind bicycle sharing service. The company has announced that it will be launching the new service officially very soon.
Though the company has not revealed a date for the launch, we can expect it to happen anytime soon. Just like other services including Prime, Micro, Mini and Auto, Pedal will also appear as a button on the app to allow users to book about the bicycles on rent. Ola has made sure that users safety is not risked and hence has integrated the bicycle with GPS, QR Code and smart locks.
According to a report by vccircle, those who book bicycles on the app will be provided with a code, which they can use to unlock the service. The pricing and availability details about the smartphone are not yet know.
