OnePlus today finally took the wraps off the much-awaited OnePlus 2. The flagship is in line with the various leaks and rumors we have come across and sure looks like a premium upgrade over the OnePlus One. The company didn’t reveal the pricing of the smartphone, but did reveal that it will go on sale in select countries, including India, on August 11.

The smartphone is priced at $329 and $389 for the 16GB and 64GB variants respectively. These prices roughly translate to Rs 21,120, and Rs 24,970. In comparison, OnePlus One was launched for Rs 18,999 and Rs 21,999 for the 16GB and 64GB variants. But they are now available for Rs 18,998 and Rs 21,998.

The OnePlus 2 features a premium design complete with a magnesium aluminum alloy frame and a removable back cover that can be swapped with what OnePlus calls are StyleSwap covers.

As promised there is a USB Type-C port at the bottom, and an interesting slider button on the left, which the company calls ‘Alert Slider’. This button essentially lets users toggle between the kind of notifications you want at any particular moment. Up front, sitting under the screen is a home button with a fingerprint scanner integrated. OnePlus says that this is one of most advanced scanners out there, and is much faster the iPhones’ TouchID sensors.

As for the specifications, unlike many of the flagships these days, the OnePlus 2 persists with a full HD display rather than QHD. It flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) In-Cell display, and is powered by a Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. As it had previously revealed OnePlus has worked closely with Qualcomm’s engineers to optimize the SoC for performance and also overcome its heating issues.

In the photography department, the OnePlus 2 features a 13-megapixel camera at the back with f/2.0 aperture, 4K video shooting capabilities, dual-LED flash, optical image stabilization (OIS), as well as laser autofocus similar to what we have seen on the LG G4. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera.

The flagship also features 64GB internal storage, a 3,300mAh battery, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, LTE support on both SIM cards, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. On the software front, it runs on Android Lollipop-based Oxygen OS.
