The launch of this year’s ‘flagship killer’, OnePlus 5, is hogging all the limelight right now with its launch inching closer. OnePlus will launch its flagship device on June 20, which will then arrive in India on June 22. What’s confirmed is that the OnePlus 5 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC, feature a full HD display, front fingerprint sensor and dual rear cameras. The leaks and reports don’t stop here for the OnePlus 5 as the smartphone has now been spotted on Geekbench with 8GB of RAM.
This listing coincides with yesterday’s image shared by Evan Blass of the source code used in Amazon India’s ad about the OnePlus 5. The source code revealed that the OnePlus 5 will be powered a 2.35GHz octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM. The Geekbench listing shows 8GB of RAM, which is a near confirmation for the OnePlus 5 and also complements the numerous leaks and rumors seen in the past. The Geekbench listing further shows the Snapdragon 835 SoC but with a lesser clock speed of 1.90GHz.
In terms of scoring, the OnePlus 5 achieves a single core score of 1,917 and multi-core score of 6,562. These scores are slightly lower than its previous scores of 1,963 and 6,687 on Geekbench itself. However, it still keeps the OnePlus 5 at par with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Sony Xperia XZ Premium. Powered by the same chipset, the Galaxy S8 had a 1,929 single-core score and 6,084 multi-core score. As for the Xperia XZ Premium, it logged a 1,943 single core score and 5,824 multi-core score.
