There is hardly anything we don’t know about the OnePlus 5T. OnePlus has officially announced that the OnePlus 5T will launch globally on November 16 at an event in Brooklyn, New York. While OnePlus will be live streaming the launch on its official page here, the company has also partnered with PVR to stream the event on the big screen. In India, OnePlus fans can watch the event live at PVR Chanakyapuri, Delhi on November 16 at 21:30PM IST. The event will also be live streamed at select PVR theaters across Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune.
However, there is a catch. OnePlus fans will have to book their seats. The bookings can be made via BookMyShow for Rs 99 starting November 8, 10:00 AM onwards. The company has also revealed that the OnePlus 5T will go on early sale starting November 21 at 16.30 IST on Amazon India and oneplusstore.in. Followed by the online sale, the smartphone will also be available through all offline channels in India.
Amazon India has already put up a page teasing the launch of OnePlus 5T. The page doesn’t reveal anything about the device expects the ‘Notify Me’ button. Here, it is worth noting that the OnePlus 5 was exclusively available via Amazon India followed by its extended availability in retail stores like Croma.
In terms of pricing, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau hinted that the OnePlus 5T might be priced at RMB 3,499 (approximately Rs 34,200) in China for the higher variant. Given the previous price trends and the speculations made, the OnePlus 5T price has been estimated at Rs 40,000. That would still put the OnePlus 5T on par, with high-end flagship offerings from Samsung, Google, HTC and LG.
In terms of specifications, one major change that we are expected to notice will be the edge-to-edge display with 18:9 aspect ratio screen. The OnePlus 5T is expected to feature a 6-inch full HD+ AMOLED display. Under the hood, the smartphone might run Snapdragon 835 SoC. There are likely to be two variants of the OnePlus 5T – 64GB storage variant with 6GB of RAM, and 128GB storage model with 8GB of RAM.
