Today we came across some very important leaks and announcements. Just hours ago, OnePlus confirmed a 256GB storage and 8GB RAM variant of the OnePlus 6, Fortnite was made available to everyone on iOS, and Xiaomi kicked off its gift card program as part of the Mi Fan Festival. We also saw a triple camera setup leaked, which will reportedly grace the Nokia 9, and read the rumors on Google working on mid-range Pixel smartphones. OnePlus 6 256GB variant
In post on the OnePlus forum, CEO Pete Lau today confirmed that the OnePlus 6 will be coming in a 256GB storage option, paired with 8GB of RAM on-board. Earlier today, the company also teased a four second video on Twitter, “revealing” that the smartphone will in fact be called OnePlus 6, which however, was no surprise at all.
Fortnite on iOS
After hitting iOS devices in a closed beta a couple of weeks ago, the popular Fortnite is now out of the beta, and is available to everyone using iPhone SE or iPhone 6s or later, and iPad mini 4/Air 2 or later. However, these devices must be running iOS 11 to be able to download the app.
Xiaomi gift card program
In a layup to the upcoming Mi Fan Festival, Xiaomi today announced partnership with Qwikcilver to introduce a new gift card program on its mi.com website, and Mi Store app. These gift cards will allow users to share vouchers worth up to Rs 10,000 with friends. The Mi Gift Card comes with a minimum purchase value of Rs 100, going up to Rs 10,000.
Nokia 9 triple camera
In a leak today it was revealed that HMD Global may be following Huawei’s footsteps for its highly-rumored Nokia 9 smartphone. Reportedly, like the Huawei P20 Pro, the Nokia 9 will sport a triple-camera setup at the rear.
Per the leak, the Nokia 9 will sport a 41-megapixel primary camera with OIS, wide-angle lens and dual aperture f/1.5 to f/2.4. The second sensor would be a 20-megapixel one with telephoto lens, OIS and f/2.4 aperture. The third will be a monochrome sensor of 9.7-megapixel resolution.
Google mid-range Pixel smartphones
Google is reportedly working on mid-range Pixel smartphones, which will be aimed at emerging smartphone markets like India. Additionally, the report also revealed that Google will bring the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL to India “around Diwali”.
