Slow-motion videos are fun. With higher frames per seconds (fps), you can actually slow down time, especially when you capture the right moments. While slow-motion videos already existed on smartphones, they were limited to 240fps. Sony launched the Xperia XZ Premium with 960fps slow-motion video recording, and soon after that Samsung and Huawei also introduced the feature on their flagship smartphones. Now, OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 6 will indeed come with super slow-motion video recording capabilities.

In the latest teaser video posted on Twitter, you can see the light bulb, a watermelon, a bubble popping, and more. The caption reads “Let’s slow down time,” and the video ends with a text revealing “Shot on OnePlus 6.” Now, typically, while the Galaxy S9 and Huawei P20 Pro feature super slow motion video recording at 960fps, the resolution is limited to 720p (HD). The Sony Xperia XZ2, on the other hand, is capable of recording videos at 1080p (full HD) resolution. Now, it remains to be seen if OnePlus 6 will feature slow-motion video recording at HD or full HD resolution.

OnePlus 6 specifications and features

The OnePlus 6 is expected to feature a 6.28-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. The company has also confirmed that the display will feature a notch on the top, and you will also be able to hide it with a software tweak.

Under the hood will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core SoC paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB onboard storage, and a top end variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. OnePlus 6 price is expected to start at Rs 36,999, and may go all the way up to Rs 44,999.

In the photography department, the smartphone will come with dual cameras – a primary sensor with megapixel resolution, and a secondary sensor with 26-megapixel resolution. Up front, a 16-megapixel camera is also expected for selfies and video calling. On the software front, the smartphone will run Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box with OxygenOS on top. OnePlus also teased that the smartphone will come with iPhone X-like gesture control support.
