OnePlus has started rolling out a new OTA (over-the-air) update for a range of devices such as OnePlus 6, OnePlus 5 and 5T and the older OnePlus 3 and 3T. While the update aims to fix some bugs, add features and improve performance, it also brings one nasty big that is bothering a lot of users.
A number of users have been complaining over at OnePlus forums about the battery drain issue on the OnePlus 6. The problem reportedly came to light after the OxygenOS 5.1.6 and 5.1.8 updates. Without any change in daily routine, the OnePlus 6 now offers half the screen-on-time compared to what it was before.

Another strange thing is that the phone reportedly shuts down even when the battery have above 50 percent charge left. The device starts working fine after plugging in a charger, but the problem is annoying for sure. If that’s not enough, a small number of people are also experiencing camera freezing issue.
Besides OnePlus 6, OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users have also complained about battery life issues, where the phone shuts down abruptly even without giving warning at 15 percent. It is likely a bug where screen is draining more battery that it should. OnePlus hasn’t acknowledged the issue yet, but we expect an update could be on its way to fix the battery drain.
