Ahead of the official release, OnePlus is teasing its next-on-line OnePlus 6 smartphone. Recently, the company put out a teaser photo on social media revealing the back panel of the smartphone. It is also confirmed that the OnePlus 6 will include the iPhone X-like notch on the front. Keeping with its tradition of revealing another feature of the upcoming flagship smartphone, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has released some early camera samples taken from the OnePlus 6.
OnePlus is expected to receive further updates compared to its predecessor when it comes to the camera. The smartphone is likely to include a dual-camera setup to catch up with rivals such as Huawei P20 series. The CEO has now provided us a peek into the camera prowess of the OnePlus 6 through a series of daylight images, captured in California. The images have been posted on China’s Weibo.
If one looks at these sample images, the quality output can easily be mistaken for a professional-grade camera. The minute detailing of colors on tulips is clear, and so are the shadows and highlights on a given building. In what might have been a flat composition, the OnePlus 6 appears to have got the textures on a beige wall with stained glass just right. While the camera specifications of the OnePlus 6 are unknown so far, it will be safe to say based on the images that the color reproduction of the camera will be true to life, with eye for detail.
OnePlus 6 specifications
Based on teasers revealed by the company, the OnePlus 6 is expected to be a tad thinner than the OnePlus 5 and sport a notch on the top. Adding to the narrow bezel display lineup, the OnePlus 6 is likely to pack a tall 6-inch full-screen display. Under the hood, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of default internal storage. It is likely to run Android Oreo out-of-the-box, and support Face Unlock. Owing to the edge-to-edge display with a notch, OnePlus 6 is expected to receive support for iPhone X-like gesture.
This week, OnePlus pushed out another teaser of the smartphone hinting at the dust and water resistance capabilities. The new teaser posted by OnePlus India on Twitter hints at OnePlus 6 launching with an IPXX rating, confirming its protection against water and dust. On the software front, the OnePlus 6 will run Android Oreo out-of-the-box. Previous images indicate the smartphone will retain the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, while the alert slider might switch to a new location.
