With brands starting to rollout their flagships devices, OnePlus is also in line to release the OnePlus 6 later this year. Although not expected to launch before the second quarter of 2018, OnePlus 6 is among the most anticipated flagship devices of the year. Now, a report has come out suggesting that it could be OnePlus’ most expensive smartphones yet.
According to Chinese news agency CNMO, the highest variant of the OnePlus 6 will feature 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage, and will be priced around $749 (Rs 48,700 approximately),GizmoChina reports. The report also reiterates that the flagship device will be launched sometime towards the end of the second quarter.
If true, this is the first time OnePlus will be selling its smartphone in the premium segment. With the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T, the company did edge a little towards the premium side. But with the OnePlus 6, the company seems to be targeting a much bigger price jump.
However, to be fair, brands like Apple and Samsung have already pushed the benchmarks in the premium segments. In comparison, a Rs 50,000 OnePlus smartphone still seems like a flagship killer price. For perspective, the Apple iPhone X 256GB variant is priced at Rs 108,930, whereas the Samsung Galaxy S9+ 256GB model retails at Rs 72,900.
Moving on, besides the price of the device, a bunch of specification of the OnePlus 6 have also leaked. Reportedly, the OnePlus 6 will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 processor paired with 8GB of RAM. Given the trend with the OnePlus 5T, we could expect a 6GB RAM variant as well. For photography the OnePlus 6 will apparently come with a combination of 16-megapixel and a 20-megapixel sensors at the rear.
The smartphone will feature a 6.2-inch OLED FHD+ display, and from what the rumors have suggested so far, it will mimic the design language of the iPhone X with the notch.
