Since its debut in India, OnePlus has largely adopted the online-exclusive model for its products. But lately, the company has been increasingly focused on expanding its offline footprint in the county. OnePlus unveiled an offline store in Bengaluru last year, and has now added three more stores.
These three new stores have come up in Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kolkata. The stores will open in 4th Block, Jayanagar in Bengaluru, Central Mall in Mumbai, and South City Mall in Kolkata. The company has opened a registration page and will offer assured gifts on purchase. In a released statement, OnePlus confirmed that registered customers will be eligible for exclusive OnePlus goodies on purchase.
The company plans to give first 100 customers at the store free OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Iron Man Case, and free OnePlus branded T-Shirts. All students also stand a chance to win a OnePlus Back-to-School kit on purchase, and customers who bring a friend to the store will be eligible for free OnePlus 5 or OnePlus 5T accessories.
While India’s smartphone market remains dominated by online sales, the company catering primarily to online buyers have realized there is an untapped market in the offline space. Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo are championing the offline market and now, OnePlus wants a pie of that market as well. OnePlus says it plans to open over 10 new offline touchpoints in 10 key markets, which aligns with its offline strategy.
“With India becoming the second headquarters for OnePlus, we are looking to increase our focus on offline to reach out to the large majority of the Indian market that prefer touch-and-feel stores for experience before purchase. However, we will continue to be a digital-first brand,” said Vikas Agarwal, General Manager, OnePlus India.
