After starting out with an invite-only online sales model, OnePlus has over the years grown into a more capable operation, and now sells its smartphones online through the open sale model. Touted as the ‘flagship killer’, the Chinese manufacturer also has offline experience centers in many locations across the globe including one in Bangalore, India. The company has now teased that it may ship smartphones offline via Croma, a popular chain of retail stores owned by Indian conglomerate Tata.
‘We’re up to something. Can you guess what it is?’, tweeted OnePlus India a few hours ago along with an image which teases the brand logo for Croma. On discovering it, BGR India reached out to OnePlus for further details, and are awaiting a confirmation on the same. For now, it is safe to say that OnePlus is indeed up for a collaboration with the popular retail store chain. The collaboration is likely to push numbers for OnePlus in terms of sale as the products will gain an increased reach offline with Croma stores.

The Oneplus community can expect the company to sell it latest smartphone the OnePlus 5 in Croma stores soon. However, as OnePlus has not officially spoken about the confirmation, it is difficult to say if it will bring other products such as its cases, screen protector, earphones, bag and other gears to the retail store. Also, it would interesting to see if the company also puts the OnePlus 3T on sale through the offline channel, considering that the phone is still on sale online. OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T were discontinued earlier this year in certain global markets.
Notably, OnePlus recently completed its 1000 days of operation in the country. Being a young company, it has achieved a lot in a small amount of time and with a small portfolio of products. In order to push sales for OnePlus smartphones, it recently announced the OnePlus 5 Soft Gold variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. Initially available only in midnight black variant, the OnePlus 5 8GB/128GB variant now also comes in the Slate Gray color option. The company, as a part of 1000 days celebration, even slashed Rs 4000 from the initial price of OnePlus 3T on Amazon India. The smartphone is now available for Rs 25,999.
