After launching the A75 and A75s in Taiwan, Oppo has launched yet another smartphone, this time in China. Called A83, the USP of the smartphone is its 5.7-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Oppo A83 is priced at RMB 1,399 (which roughly translates to Rs 13,800), and will be offered in Champagne and Black color variants.
While the smartphone has already gone on pre-order, it will be available starting December 29. As of now, there is no word on whether Oppo plans to bring the smartphone to the Indian shores anytime soon. While most manufacturers have moved the fingerprint scanner at the back, Oppo has skipped it, and has implemented Face Unlock feature instead.
The facial recognition technology on the A83 uses 128 unique feature points of the user’s face. Oppo claims that the Face Unlock feature can unlock the smartphone within 0.18 seconds.
