Oppo is currently prepping for the launch of its F5 smartphone in Philippines which will take place on October 26. Oppo has now updated that the smartphone will be launched in six more Asian markets including India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. Although these markets have been confirmed for the launch, the date of launch in these countries hasn’t been released as yet.
In addition to revealing this information, Oppo also said that the F5 will be the company’s first full display smartphone with full HD+ display. Seeing how the Oppo F5 will be a selfie-centric smartphone, it will also feature AI Beauty Recognition technology. Oppo says that “the AI will self-learn and enhance each shot, as it takes more and more selfies”. The Oppo F5 will house a dual-camera setup at the front which is expected to be a pair of 16-megapixel sensors. At the rear, the smartphone could sport a 20-megapixel camera with LED flash.
As far as specifications are concerned, the Oppo F5 is rumored to feature a 6-inch display with aspect ratio of 18:9. Based on its promotional images and video, the Oppo F5 will sport a tall display making it look much like the Galaxy S8. The smartphone has almost no bezels on the sides, and the top and bottom bezels are also very thin. The top bezel is seen housing the dual front cameras. The volume rocker is placed on the left while the power key sits on the right side. At the rear panel, the camera is placed at the top left center and the circular fingerprint sensor at the center. The Oppo F5 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 SoC. It could come with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone could be fueled by a 4,000mAh battery.
