Oppo has seen a good growth in the Indian smartphone market, and it is now the fourth largest brand in India. Now, just like Huawei’s sub-brand Honor, Oppo is also set to launch its online-only sub-brand called Realme in India. The first smartphone, Realme 1, will be launched later today at an event in Delhi, and the smartphone will be available exclusively on Amazon India. The launch event will kick off at 12:30PM. With the Realme 1, Oppo is taking on Xiaomi and Honor. Here’s everything we know about the smartphone.
Realme 1 price in India
The smartphone is expected to retail between Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000. While leaks have hinted at 6GB of RAM, we won’t be surprised if there is a variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage as well. The immediate competitors to the smartphone will be the Honor 10 Lite, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1.

Realme 1 specifications and features
Based on leaks that we have come across, the smartphone is said to feature a 6-inch IPS LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and support 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, a MediaTek Helio P60 SoC is expected, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. The Realme 1 will be a dual-SIM capable smartphone with hybrid SIM slot that also supports expandable storage via SD card slot.
In the photography department, the Realme 1 is said to feature a 13-megapixel rear camera with support for AI-based depth effect. In the selfie department, an 8-megapixel front camera along with portrait mode is expected to be in tow. The Realme 1 will mostly run on ColorOS 5.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo OS. While the smartphone is expected to lack support for biometric authentication, face unlock feature is likely to be in tow.
There is no word on the availability of the smartphone, but we will know more when the company unveils the smartphone later today.
