As expected, Panasonic has launched two new smartphones today in India – Eluga Ray 500 and Eluga 700. The Eluga Ray 500 is priced at Rs 8,999, and the Eluga Ray 700 at Rs 9,999. Both the smartphones will be available exclusively available on Flipkart starting tomorrow during the Big Billion Day sale. The Eluga Ray 500 and Eluga Ray 700 come in three color options of Champagne Gold, Marine Blue and Mocha Gold.
In terms of design both the devices sport a unibody metal design with antenna lines running along the rear chassis. The home button on the smartphones doubles up as a fingerprint sensor. Among the talking points is the Arbo AI assistant that is onboard the Eluga Ray 500, and the Eluga Ray 700. The AI assistant was first introduced on the Eluga Ray Max, and Eluga Ray X launched earlier this year.
The Arbo AI assistant monitors usage behavior, and with its location identification feature it “recognizes the places often visited by the user and sends out prompt responses asking them to make changes to their phone settings”. It also “takes care of all daily tasks and activities like calls and messages that need to be framed and sent out on a regular basis”.
Pansonic Eluga Ray 500 specifications
The Panasonic Eluga Ray 500 features a 5-inch HD (720p) IPS display with a 2.5D curved glass on top. Under its hood is a MediaTek MTK6737 quad-core processor clocked at 1.25GHz paired with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 32GB of internal storage that is further expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card.
The smartphone’s photographic chops are among the highlights. It comes with a dual-camera setup that a 13-megapixel sensor of f/2.0 aperture, and a 5-megapixel sensor of f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, the Eluga Ray 500 has a 5-megapixel camera of f/2.4 aperture.
Its connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots (hybrid-setup), 4G with VoLTE support, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and Wi-Fi. The Eluga Ray 500 is fueled by a 4,000mAh battery. Panasonic Eluga Ray 700 specifications
The Panasonic Eluga Ray 700 flaunts a bigger 5.5-inch full HD display with 2.5D curved glass and Gorilla Glass 3 layered on top for protection. At the heart of the smartphone is a MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor. In terms of memory, the Eluga Ray 700 also comes with 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of expandable storage.

The connectivity options available on the Eluga Ray 700 include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE support, Bluetooth 4, Wi-Fi, and USB OTG support. Keeping the smartphone ticking is a massive 5,000mAh battery. The Eluga Ray 700 too runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.
