Panasonic Eluga U Android KitKat smartphone launched in India priced at Rs 18,990

As expected, Panasonic today launched its Eluga series of smartphones in India today. The first smartphone in this range is called the Eluga U, and it is priced at Rs 18,990.

As far as specifications are concerned, the Eluga U flaunts a 5-inch HD 720p IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is powered by a Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. Also included is 16GB internal storage that can be further expanded using a microSD card.

The smartphone also features a 13-megapixel rear camera with auto focus and LED flash, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2,500mAh battery. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0, and on the software front it runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

The smartphone boasts a unibody design and will be available in black and white variants. It features dimensions of 141.5×71.3×7.95mm and weighs 141 grams.

At this price point, the Eluga U will be up against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 and the Lenovo Vibe X among others. The Lenovo Vibe X is the one offering the best combination of specs with a 1080p display, 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel cameras. The Eluga U however, is the only one running on 4.4.2 KitKat OS.
