Philips has reentered the smartphone market in India with the launch of the W6610, S308 and the W3500. In addition to the smartphone, Philips has also launched a feature phone called the E130. The company’s smartphones are placed in mid-range segment with prices starting from Rs 8,290, while the feature phone is priced at Rs 1,960.
Talking of specifications, the W6610 comes with a 5-inch qHD (960×540 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core chipset with 1GB of RAM. Also included is 4GB internal storage that is expandable using a microSD card, an 8-megapixel rear camera with auto focus and flash, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera and a 5,300mAh, which the company claims is good enough to survive 32 hours of talktime. On the connectivity front, it supports dual-SIM card slots, 3G network support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and AGPS. The phone runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. This device is priced at Rs 20,650.
The W3500 features a 5-inch FWVGA display, 1.3GHz quad-core chipset, a 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, standard connectivity options and on the software front, it too runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The W3500 is priced at Rs 16,195.
The S308, on the other hand, is the most affordable amongst all the three smartphones priced at Rs 8,290. It features a 4-inch WVGA display, 1GHz dual-core chipset, 512MB of RAM and 4GB expandable memory, 5-megapixel rear camera. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 3G network support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and AGPS, and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
