Read it later service, Pocket has improved its core sharing functionality by adding a new ‘send to friend’ feature in its mobile and desktop apps. Not that users could not share previously as the app already has Facebook, Twitter and email sharing features, the ‘send to friend’ feature allows users to send specific links to friends who are already on Pocket. These users will be update via a notification within the app and also via email.
Pocket says that its users share over email twice as much as they do over social networks, and that is why the company has improved this side of the product. It is also worth noting this update comes exactly one year after the company rebranded the app to Pocket from its previous name of Read It Later. As always, the app is available for Mac, iOS, Android and there are Google Chrome extensions to boot.
