Alongside the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro, the company also announced the Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS. The smartphone blends the luxury aesthetics with the high-end hardware. The third-generation handset includes the triple-camera setup similar to the P20 Pro. The Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS boasts an in-screen fingerprint sensor, which is in addition to a regular physical sensor placed at the back of the device.

The smartphone packs a 6-inch OLED 2K curved screen. Unlike the P20 lineup, the Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS does not feature a notch on the top. It features a glossy finish at the back. Under the hood is a Kirin 970 octa-core processor paired with 6GB of RAM, and 256GB or 512GB of internal storage.
For optics, the Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS is equipped with a Leica triple camera setup which includes a 40-megapixel RGB sensor, a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor and an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor. Up front, there’s a 24-megapixel sensor with support for 3D Portrait Lightning and Portrait Mode.
It is touted to be the world’s first smartphone equipped with microcapsule PCM – an aerospace cooling technology for maintaining a safe temperature. Keeping things ticking is a 4,000mAh battery, which supports quick wireless charging. It is also the first Huawei smartphone to support the technology. It is IP67 certified for water and dust resistance.
Pricing and availability
The smartphone will be available starting April 12, 2018, in color choices of Black and Red. It is priced at 1,695 Euros (approximately Rs 136,250) for the base model with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The high-end model with 6GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage is priced at 2,095 Euros (approximately Rs 168,404).
