A couple of days back, a new Asus tablet codenamed K009 cropped up on the FCC certifications, which was believed to be the next Nexus tablet. The tablet has again been spotted, this time on Bluetooth SIG, and for the first time we see a photo of the tablet, AndroidCentral reports.
The tiny photo shows a 7-inch tablet with a similar design language to the Nexus 7, a front facing camera and a smaller bezel than the current generation tablet. What’s interesting though, is the specification mentioned on Bluetooth SIG listing. Instead of the Snapdragon S4 Pro inside, this listing suggests that the tablet has a Snapdragon 600 chipset inside. In addition to the above, we have also heard before that the tablet will include an Adreno GPU, LTE-network connectivity support and a 5-megapixel camera at the rear.
Previously, it has also been suggested that it will have a 7-inch 1080p display and will be available in July, possibly a couple of months before Apple updates the iPad mini.
Not much else is known about the device, but the fact that the device is being handed out to different authorities for certifications, might indicate that a launch isn’t too far.
