The month of Ramzan in India or Ramadan as it is known elsewhere, is a month of intense prayer and fasting for Muslims all over the world. They keep fasts as long as there is daylight and only eat during the dark hours. The end of this month-long fasting which is known as ‘Roza’ is marked by the day known as Eid-ul-Fitr.
During this period of time, the Muslim community offers prayers five times a day in the direction of Mecca and there is a special significance in the positioning of the moon for them. Keeping these in mind we have found some specific apps that help make things easier during this period. Let’s have a look at these apps.
This Android app from the developer called Andiko is a rather useful app to keep track of things. It has several features, which include geolocation and pointing towards Mecca using GPS. There are accessible prayer timetables, along with moon phases of the present day as well as the days to come. Users can also get prayers on the app using the “Call to Prayer” feature.
Muslim Pro – Ramadan 2018
This next app is developed by Muslim Pro Limited, and has an extremely high rating from over a million people on the Android Play Store. The prominent features of this app include accurate prayer timings or “Azan”, Fasting times (Imsak and Iftar), the Holy Quran (Al Qur’an) with audio recitations, Colored Tajweed to help improve one’s pronunciation when reading the Quran and others. It even has a community of its own, points out halal shops in your area and has quite a few language options.
This next app by Pxl Apps may not be as popular as the previous ones, but is still plenty useful. It gives specific date and month along with five Islamic prayer times, “imsak” and “iftar” for more than 251 countries. There is also an option to save the days you missed along with a notification for Zakat Al Fitr. Probably the most useful feature of this app is that it will give you notifications about the prayer timings.
Islam 101 is an app by developers Baqa Creatives, who have come up with an interesting app. This is a learning app about Islam that is useful to not just Muslims, but others as well.
