Reliance Digital LYF Wind 3, LYF Flame 8 with 4G VoLTE launched via Flipkart: Price, specifications and features

Reliance Digital has launched two new smartphones, the LYF Wind 3 and LYF Flame 8. The smartphones are priced at Rs 6,999 and Rs 4,199 respectively and are exclusively available via Flipkart. The company has not yet announced the release date of the phone.

Reliance Digital LYF Wind 3 and LYF Flame 8 launched

Reliance Digital is progressively increasing its portfolio of LYF branded smartphones. The company last launched the LYF Wind 2 smartphone, which was priced at Rs 8,299. Joining the LYF series are the LYF Wind 3 and LYF Flame 8. The smartphones are priced at Rs 6,999 and Rs 4,199 respectively and exclusively available through Flipkart. Right both the devices are listed as ‘coming soon’ on Flipkart.

The two smartphones are not listed on Reliance’s official website for LYF smartphones as yet. It is worth pointing out here that it is not the first time a LYF smartphone is exclusively available through an  e-commerce platform. Back in May, the company launched the Reliance Digital LYF Flame 3 exclusively via HomeShop18. It seems the company is now extending the exclusive partnerships with other e-commerce platforms as well.

That said, both the LYF Wind 3 and LYF Flame 8 are budget smartphones and like all the LYF smartphones, these come with with 4G and VoLTE support. Reliance Jio is also bundling a free Reliance Jio preview offer with the LYF smartphones.

Reliance Digital LYF Wind 3 Specifications

Priced at Rs 6,999, the smartphone flaunts a 5.5 inch HD display. It is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm quad-core processor and is paired with 2GB of RAM. Also on offer is 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded to 32GB via microSD card.

On the camera front, the smartphone sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front camera. The smartphone supports HD and full HD video recording, and also has 6x Digital Zoom on both front and back cameras.

The smartphone is equipped with 2,920mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough to last up to 370 hours of standby time.  On the connectivity front, the smartphone supports dual-SIM, LTE, VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, USB2.0 and 3.5 mm audio jack. The LYF Wind 3 runs Android Lollipop 5.1 out-of-the-box.

The smartphone will face tough competition in the likes of Intex Aqua Secure and Xiaomi Redmi 3s among other budget smartphones. Priced at Rs 6,999, the Xiaomi Redmi 3s comes with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, and 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras. But the Xiaomi Redmi 3s beats the competition with a massive 4,000mAh battery, a rarity in this price category.

Reliance Digital LYF Flame 8 Specifications

Priced at Rs 4,199, the smartphone features a 4.5-inch (480 x 854) FWVGA display. It is powered by a 1.1GHz Qualcomm quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. Also on offer is 8GB of internal storage which can be further expandable to 128GB via a microSD card.

On the photography front, the smartphone comes with 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. Other features of the camera included Red Eye Reduction, Smile Detection, Gaze Detection, Blink Detection and Panorama mode. The smartphone comes with a 2,000mAh battery, which the company says is good enough to provide 160 hours of standby time.

On the connectivity front, the smartphone supports dual-SIM, LTE, VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, USB 2.0 and 3.5 mm audio jack. The LYF Wind 3 runs Android Lollipop 5.1 out-of-the-box.

Looking at the specifications on paper, the smartphone will face neck-to-neck competition from other entry-level 4G smartphones like the Intex Cloud Fame and Micromax Bolt Selfie.
