The high-octane IPL 2018 is drawing to a close on Sunday with the finals being played between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad. To cash in on the buzz around the finals, Reliance Jio has rolled out a new add-on pack for those who plan to watch the finals on the move. This add-on pack essentially offers 8GB of free 4G data for a period of four days – May 25 to May 29.
This new Jio Cricket Pack is essentially a complimentary add-on with limited validity. The pack is worth Rs 101, and it offers 2GB of daily data for four days (8GB data in total). In case you are to exceed the daily limit of 2GB, you will be able to continue accessing the internet at reduced speeds of 64Kbps. It is to be noted that this is just a data add-on pack, and doesn’t come with any voice calls or SMS benefits.
There is no clarity on which users are entitled to this add-on pack. To check if you have received it, you can head over to the My Plans section on your MyJio smartphone app. While the data packs are cashing in on the buzz around IPL 2018, the free data is not restricted to streaming Cricket matches. You can use if for all your usual data consuming habits.

Jio itself introduced the he ‘Cricket Season Pack’ earlier this year, priced at Rs 251. Its Cricket Gold Pass also offered users with free access to IPL content.

The likes of BSNL and Bharti Airtel too had introduced special packs during the IPL season. BSNL had launched a Rs 248 plan offering 3GB daily data, while Airtel launched a Rs 499 prepaid plan bundled with 164GB high-speed 4G data. Airtel also partnered Hotstar to offer users free live streaming of IPL 2018 matches.
