Reliance Jio has been all aggressive with its voice and data plans since launch, and incumbent operators have been facing the heat. But that didn’t stop incumbent operators from giving a tough fight. Bharti Airtel, for once, has been going aggressive to match Jio’s offering, and has been pretty successful too. And latest Rs 558 prepaid plan aims to offer higher data benefits to the customers.
Spotted by TelecomTalk, the plan comes with a validity of 82 days and offers daily 3GB 3G / 4G data. This means, if you utilize the entire 3GB data daily, you can download up to 246GB data throughout the validity. This also brings the per GB data cost down to just Rs 2.26. Besides the data benefits, the Rs 558 plan also offers unlimited voice calls without any FUP limit on daily and weekly basis. What’s more, the plan also includes 100 SMS per day.

Airtel also recently revised its FUP for prepaid unlimited packs above Rs 199. So, after the daily limit of 3GB data is hit, the speed will be throttled down to 128Kbps. Reliance Jio, on the other hand, also offer unlimited data, and once the limit is hit, it throttles speed to 64Kbps.
Airtel’s plan is very aggressive and will compete with Jio’s Rs 498 plan that offers a total of 182GB data (2GB per day) and validity of 91 days. It also offers subscribers with access to Jio suite of apps such as JioTV, JioMovies and JioMusic among others. The plan also offers unrestricted free outgoing calls, 100 daily SMS. Clearly, Airtel’s plan is more enticing than Jio’s.
