Until now, the price vs data war was between Reliance Jio and incumbent telecom operators such as Vodafone, Airtel and Idea Cellular. Now, even Tata Docomo is joining the war with its latest prepaid plan. Priced at Rs 229, the new prepaid plan offers 100 free SMS per day, and 1.4GB daily data.
Sadly, as Docomo has not launched its 4G services, the data speed is limited to 3G. The plan comes with 35 days validity, meaning users can download a total of up to 49GB data. The Rs 229 plan also offers unlimited voice calls, but there is a small catch here.
Docomo limits the unlimited calls to 250 minutes per day, after which you will be charged 30 paise per minute. And while incoming and outgoing roaming calls are free of cost when latched on to Docomo’s network, but calls will be charged as per base tariff plan when latched on other networks.

Once the daily limit is hit, the speed will be throttled to 64Kbps. Users also get an access to Jio suite of apps such as JioMovies, JioMusic, JioTV among others.
Vodafone, on the other hand, has a plan priced at Rs 199 which offers 1.4GB daily data, unlimited local and national calls, 100 free SMS daily. The plan comes with a validity of 28 days. Lastly, Airtel also has a plan priced at Rs 249 which offers 28 days validity, 100 SMS daily, 2GB daily 3G / 4G data, along with unlimited local and national calls.
