The tariff war unleashed by Reliance Jio seems far from settled. After New Year 2018 offer, Reliance Jio recently announced a new tariff plan for the upcoming Republic Day. Called, ‘Republic Day 2018 plan’, the new data packs available under this plan will be exclusive to Jio Prime members. The Jio plans will come into effect from January 26. Customers will have to buy a new recharge pack on or after January 26, 2018, to avail the data benefits under the Jio Republic Day Offer.
Reliance Jio, in its press statement also mentioned that these new plans have been launched as a response to Airtel’s tariff changes. In a gist, the new Reliance Jio Republic Day 2018 plans now offer 1.5GB and 2GB data per day instead of 1GB and 1.5GB data respectively.
Under the plan, all the Jio Prime members will get unlimited local and STD calls and free SMS, with the SMS limit capped at 100 local and STD messages per day. Under the Republic Day offer, all existing 1GB per day packs have been upgraded to 1.5GB per day, while 1.5GB per day pack have now been upgraded to 2GB per day.
The company has also introduced a Rs 98 plan, which offers 2GB data per day with a validity of 28 days. If a user tends to exceed the limit of the pack, he/she will have to make additional top up to further avail the benefits.
Apart from this, there are eight more offers under the Republic Day 2018 plan. To begin with the first four plans, Reliance Jio is offering 50 percent more data benefits, while the packs are now priced Rs 50 lower than before. The plans now start at Rs 149, Rs 349, Rs 399, and Rs 449 respectively. The validity of these packs will be 28 days, 70 days, 84 days and 91 days respectively. Users get 1.5GB data limit for each day.
Coming to the other four plans, which will offer 2GB data per day. Under the new Republic Day 2018 plan, customers can recharge for Rs 198, Rs 398, Rs 448 and Rs 498 respectively, where they will get 2GB data per day for a span of 28 days, 70 days, 84 days and 91 days respectively.
“With these changes, Jio reinforced its tariff supremacy and confirms its PRIME customers that they will always get the best tariffs in the industry,” the company said in a statement. Reliance Jio has also mentioned that these new plans have been launched as a response to Airtel‘s tariff changes.
Airtel recently announced Rs 149 prepaid plan that has been revised to offer new benefits in a few circles. Under Airtel’s Rs 149 prepaid recharge pack users now get unlimited call benefits. You also get 100 free SMS per day. Additionally, the new plan offers 1GB for the period of 28 days.
