Critical details of Reliance Jio subscribers may have been dumped online, but that does not stop the operator from catering to the needs of customers for affordable mobile data and calling plans. Reliance Jio has now extended the data amount and validity period for existing plans for its prepaid as well as postpaid customers. The refreshed structure of plans arrives as the Summer Surprise Offer is about to draw to a close by July-end. The move is expected to further intensify the ongoing battle with incumbent operators in India.

To help ease the confusion, let’s first take a look at the prepaid plans. The new structure of increased data and validity applies to all plans priced Rs 309 and above. Instead of the standard validity of 28 days, the data packs will now be valid for a minimum of 56 days. For the Rs 309 plan, other than the 56-day validity, the plan will now offer you 56GB of data at 4G speeds, which is twice the amount on offer earlier. The daily FUP will remain at 1GB/day and post 4G data, one can continue unlimited usage at 128kbps. The Rs 349 plan gets only an increase in validity while rest of the offerings continue to remain the same.
