Samsung 7 Chronos and Series 7 Ultra notebooks announced in India

Samsung today announced the 7 Chronos and Series 7 Ultra notebooks in India at its Samsung Forum 2013 event in Hyderabad.

The 7 Chronos features a 15.6-inch Full HD display with a 10-point multi-touch support, an Intel Core i73635QM processor clocked at 2.4GHz, up to 16GB of RAM, and AMD’s latest Radeon HD 8870M GPU, which has 2GB of memory. Additionally, it has 1TB of memory, and Samsung claims it delivers 11 hours of battery life. It is also rather svelte at 20.9mm and weighs only 2.35kg. It runs on Windows 8.

The Series 7 Ultra is the smaller sibling of the 7 Chronos and has a 13.3-inch Full HD display that supports 10 multi-touch points. It runs on Intel’s Core i7 or i5 ultra low voltage processors and has AMD HD 8570M graphics that has 1GB of memory. It supports up to 16GB of RAM and Samsung claims that delivers 8 hours of battery life. The Series 7 Ultra is truly a portable workhorse as it weighs only 1.46Kg and measures at 18.9mm in terms of thickness.

Both laptops have JBL speakers, and feature connectivity options like USB 3.0 and HDMI.

So far price and availability of both the notebooks has not been revealed.
